Can Kings of War work in a cavern?

I had a thought, yep I know that's strange and dangerous thing.

What if some of the battles were underground, how would that work?

Hmm...

So you can still have all the terrain types:
  • Lakes - Check, you still have underground lakes and rivers
  • Obstacles - Check, you still have plenty of obstacles underground
  • Difficult Terrain
    • Forests - Check, stalagmites and stalactites
    • Fields - Check, short stalagmites, Mushroom fields
  • Hills - Check, mounds of rock etc
  • Blocking - Check, floor to ceiling
So what would be different?

Ceiling height, ie the max height for the room.

How will this work then?

Set the ceiling height at height 7.

How will this restrict or change the game?

For most terrain types, no change.
Except:
  • Blocking - Blocking is floor to ceiling so you cannot ever see over or fly over it, you have to move around it.
You could also have Blocking caverns that drop into the void (height 0 blocking)
  • Hills - Height 3 hills due to ceiling height either become
    • blocking terrain to height 4, 5 and 6 units, or
    • hindering/obstacle style terrain, ie always prevents moving at the double and hindered charges, for units height 4, 5 and 6 needing to crouch/crawl through the space. While the unit is on the hill others cannot fly over them.
I prefer the simpler version of the Hills being blocking to those that cannot fit over them.

So would this bring a new dimension to your Kings of War game?
